REBEDDING & REPOINTING

Repointing is the process of replacing the pointing while re-bedding is the process of replacing the bedding made of cement mortar. Repointing and re-bedding stops the rain water from getting between the roof beds, and keeps the roof dry. Severe weather conditions can damaged cement mortar causing it to break lose, and cracked, providing entry points for moisture and water leaks through the tiles. Besides promoting mold growth, excess moisture may also cause wood in supporting beams and joists to rot and weaken the roof structure. Roof tiles can also come lose making it a safety hazard.
