SARKING & BATTEN

Sarking is a insulation membrane that sits under your roof tiles. Sarking are installed directly underneath the roof battens. Batten is a small section of timber or steel which provides a means of supporting, positioning or fixing roof cladding and ceiling sheets. The Sarking prevent condensation from occurring within the roof space, stop water getting to the attic and prevent moisture from damaging the roof framework. Sarking  should be inspected for damaged regularly and replaced.
